You will generally have to use aromatherapy oils regularly to get a sustained benefit for chronic and long-term ailments. For short-term health problems like headache you may only need to use the treatment at the time you experience pain. However you should always make sure that you use the volatile oils correctly and safely and rule out and medical conditions that might be aggravated by the essential oil.

The oils are generally safe to use but there are certain conditions in which they can cause serious harm. Be especially careful if you are pregnant.
