This means securing the edges of the block to prevent the batting from falling out.
1. Cut out a few 2-inch thick strips of fabric in the same length as your block.
2. Use a fabric pen and mark a ¼-inch line down the edge of a strip.
3. Pin your strip an edge of the quilt top so that it is on the inside of the block, not hanging over the edge.
4. Sew along the line all the way through the block.
5. Flip the strip over the block's edge to the quilt back.
6. Pin and stitch the fabric to the quilt back.
7. Repeat this procedure for the remaining three sides.
Making up Your Quilt:
Now that you have learned the basics of quilting - making up your quilt is the easy part. Simply sew several squares together in a pattern of your choice. Choose an alternate pattern of plain and appliqued squares or make a checkerboard of plain squares.
